Insights from Flight Centre New Zealand General Manager

Heidi Walker, Flight Centre New Zealand General Manager, noted, “The Gold Coast is a great close-to-home holiday destination for a range of age groups, and plenty of Kiwis also have family living there, which often brings them back regularly. The Cook Islands are easy for Kiwis to travel to with a short flight time and the same currency.”

Walker added, “There were some surprising results that show it’s not always the traditionally popular destinations that have something special to offer travelers.”

Study and Corporate Highlights

The results came from Flight Centre’s FY24 global customer survey, with destinations requiring at least 500 responses to qualify. The Flight Centre Travel Group (FLT) also recently upgraded its Total Transaction Value (TTV) and profit guidance for the 2023/24 financial year, indicating positive trends for Australia’s largest travel agency group.

Around 2,500 of Flight Centre Travel Group’s top performers worldwide, along with support staff, suppliers, and partners, recently traveled to Lisbon for FCTG’s annual Global Gathering 2024 for a mix of leisure and formal events.
